The Discussion

Professional service organisations from every sector are chasing targets of higher productivity and improved project margins. The end goal is agility and for good reason too; agile projects are 28% more successful than traditional projects. (PwC) But scaling a project-based business presents some unique challenges. Matching demand with available resources makes it difficult to strike the right balance between feast and famine. Pressures are mounting too as traditionally national players enter the global marketplace, utilising new technologies. Whether you’re preparing for disruption or operational excellence, aligned, specialised and agile internal processes are vital.

Services firms’ most important asset is their expertise. But, when new tools are put into place, creative and adaptable processes are at risk of stagnating. A unique business requires a unique approach to transforming internal operations. Leaders must ask themselves whether their scaling strategy is empowering their projects to be more agile or simply cutting costs. Indeed, the most successful digital strategies will not only streamline internal processes but be designed around dynamic performance and improved margins.

If this is an issue you want to address, join us. We’re meeting at St James’s Hotel & Club on the 5th December, 6:30pm, for a private dinner discussion, where we’ll be asking:

  • How are leading organisations balancing project resourcing with ambitious growth targets?

  • Are boards correct to deprioritise creativity, adaptability and agility in favour of efficiency?

  • How are market leaders successfully transforming their internal operations?

  • And, how can forward-thinking decision makers ensure their digital strategy supports all the organisation’s objectives?
